In my view, many elderly people in rural area have more longevity than some people in urban. My granny is a good example why I think like that. She is about 70 year-old woman who is both healthy and happy with her life for many reason such as better atmosphere, better community and happier life style. In my first place, in rural area has clear sky and clean air that are better for aging than air pollution in the city. Secondly, most elderly people in countryside live with their family that completely opposite with some aging in urban who live alone or live with only their couple while their children go outside for working. For this reason, aging feel that they have a valued role in their family and make them happier so that lead to their good mental health. In addition, in countryside, neighborhoods have a considerable role in elderly people because when they live without their family member, they can go to neighbor home whenever they want for other activities whereas in the city, each family living separate clearly from others. As mentioned above, these are just part of reasons that lead to good quality of life and longevity.
Insightful thoughts, Sai! There is a lot to be said for growing old in the community where you have lived for much of your life. You know the routines of the neighbourhood, you know where everything is and others in the neighbourhood know you and look out for you.
In my experience, a good quality elderly person is my aunt. She is currently 74 years old. After retirement, she has been able to works as a assistant dean at one of the university's nursing faculties. Although she is old, she can take care of herself and others.According to my mention above , I think older people should not stayed at home but they should find a variety of activities to doing at home and outside. If seniors do not make a effort to stay social active, they begin to withdraw from the world and suffer physical, mental, and emotional consequences from lack of social stimulation. Social activities help seniors stay involved and active in the community.Based on my experience with the elderly in senior club at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Lampang.Every Friday from 08.30 to 12.00 a.m. Our members in the elderly club will have a variety of activities starting with the health checkup. Then they have a singing show by the elders band and Thai Lanna Dance style is a great aerobic exercise but they use the light music and posture are slow and suitable for the elderly. After the members have been doing activities together, they will come to lunch together and they chat happily among members. Every activity has a smile and a laugh.I notice that elderly people who are members of the senior club have good physical and mental health. Moreover, their look younger than they age.
The club you describe would be really beneficial to its members. It sounds a little bit like the 60+ Club that we read about in class. A health check, a variety of activities and then sharing a meal together -- what a nice balance!
It is undeniable that nowadays long life defines as not only how old you are but also how good living you are as well. I experience that my neighborhoods are two old men, one is 95, another is 96 years old. Both guys are facing with age deterioration as the same physical conditions such as deaf, partial lost sight, and limited mobility. Both men are lost their spouses for many years ago therefor they live alone in each separated house. Of cause, they need totally assistant. According to the dairy life, their routine is starting at 4.00 A.M. at that time both old men always pray for their religious Buddha 1 hour following do passive exercise on their bed floor. Then washing face and brushing tooth are finished at 7.00 A.M. during 7-8 hour their descendants come to talk to. Individual utilizes and diets are nourished preparation for the old men. Then they left to work and come again at 5 P.M. These activities are not different for the men on the dairy schedule. However, the mental health is so different that one likely more suffer from the loneliness. By this I mean, even though physical handicaps are taken parts of serious issues. If one can accept and adapt for what are occurred in those age changes, he would be received less negative impacts of the age deterioration. For instance, on one hand, an old man aged 96 years, he spend a really long day every day. I usually observe that he always sit on the old chair, his eyes unattractively focus to the wide sky, no word to say, nobody comes to talk to, and his stale face is never laugh. He spends many long hours to stay still on the chair while day time. Though his lunch is easily, of cause, it is cold. The meal is tasteless, but he hardly attempt to swollen for maintaining a balanced diet. It is generally accepted that in this case the old age is such misery even he is long live, 96 years old. On the other hand, the 95 years old, who is playing with his life, always demonstrates as famous singers in which he always sing old songs, switch loud radio on, and some days he play antique traditional music instruments which I never seen before in order to this act he has many old aged friends coming to talk to in order that sometimes they sing together.Eventually, they laughed together and spent day time to chat and eat together, so they looked happy. For this case, it seems that he has a too short day time, and he got lots of supports from neighborhoods to fulfill his psychological health because of a humorous temper he is. It should be noted that the blind can kill his sight, but his mind is not included. In brief, a long life should be described as a balance of both psychological and physical health whereas old people should learn how to accept and adapt while many health conditions happen in order to deal properly with such problems during their long live.
An effective juxtaposition of two different responses to ageing. The active one certainly sounds more attractive than the passive. How important it is to cultivate strong social ties. Sometimes I feel that I have already started on the path to fewer meaningful relationships ... and I'm still in my 50s.

We can schedule times out from work and chores to be quiet and to help others. Just living 'to get ahead' in one's profession is ultimately unsatisfying.
