Miss Kornkan Phuengnam (Ploy)

Ploy is the nursing instructor who loves teaching her students, especially mental health knowledge, while she cannot stand doing a lot of documents because she thinks that there are other ways to collect data efficiently such as using high technology. She is interested in psychiatric and mental health nursing because this field can encourage and help patients suffering from mental disorders. Thus, she expects that she will be a nursing instructor in a mental health in 10 years. In her opinion, understanding humanize is essential for a good nurse because it is the base understanding of all nurses. In addition, she would like to study abroad in doctoral degree in mental health nursing in the US or the UK. However, she never studied abroad before.

By the way, she loves English so much since this language can help her improve several things better. However, although she attends to it, she still has to improve her weakest skill that is listening. Recently, she has received a band 5.0 in IELTS test. She believes that English is much important for progressing her career and her life. Therefore, she aspires to improve her English skills and receive as much experienced as possible as well as exchange advantages for the next IELTS test. Lastly, she expects that the government should not emphasize only treatment, but they also should focus on the prevention diseases more because most diseases often are caused by poor behaviors.

Ms.Linnapat Thanawong.

Ms.Linnapat Thanawong. She is a nursing instructor at Boromarajonani College of Nursing ,Chiang Mai. She has been teaching  medication and surgery in adult nursing .She likes her job because It can contribution her lifelong learning , get her an opportunity  to go abroad for improve her teaching’s skills. She does not likes do a lot of documentation. She has a special interest in medication and surgery in adult nursing.

In her opinion about a good nurse is compassionate and patient. Compassionate is defined as the feeling of concern and sympathy for others, and in terms of patient that means a nursing is a never- ending job.

In the next 10 years, Ms.Linnapat Thanawong will follow her dream of being a nursing professor. Although, she has no experience of study overseas, but she is planning to study abroad in a Doctor of Philosophy Program in Nursing Science in The United States of American. At this time, she feels that her English language ability not enough for her to study in a Phd. Program abroad. Therefore, English is more importance to her. Especially, studying English in New Zealand will makes her to get a better score for her first times’ IELTS examination so she can apply government scholarship for study abroad.

Ms.Linnapat Thanawong most likes to see health care in Thailand change. She wants people to have more awareness of health problems and more education for manage their health problems.

Educational industries demonstrate the main income of the country that people all aged groups around the world voluntary expenditure to study English in native speaking countries such as the US, UK, Australia, and New Zealand. Moreover, the outstanding sales of iPhone and iPad in the recent decade illustrate that the breakthrough of English is accepted. In sum, both the enormous revenue of educational business and the huge income from English operative technology are displayed the globally admitted of English.

Prapasri (EaW) Phupayang : Excusive Interview

Mrs.Prapasri Thupayang has worked as an emergency nurse for 11 years. Then she studied to a master's degree of nursing (MSN) for 3 years, and after graduated, she worked as a consultant nurse for about 1 year at the same hospital where she works in the past. Now she does like a counseling work but she does not like when her counseling failed.

She has a specialization in counseling for female adolescent who engage in unplanned pregnant when they cannot decide their alternative between delivery or termination. That is challenging work for her.

In her view, a good nurse is someone who can deal with patients of various types, who can cope with herself, and balance her family well while she is a nurse.

In the next 10 years, Mrs. Phupayang sees herself as a human resource when manage people that they are different, “Maybe it is not control that is my dream” she said.

In 2002, she went to Switzerland to practice gynecology at Basel University for 14 weeks when she studied in a MSN program. In the future, she intends to study a Ph.D. of nursing at a university overseas.

She thinks, her English is not good enough as she wants. It can just to communication but it is not able to use for academics. She wants to improve her writing and reading skill. Actually, she got a band 5 on an IELTS test last year. She has to be a researcher or a lecturer in the future. Therefore, English is needed to contribute her research to international publications. She hopes to achieve while she is in New Zealand, she will able to get a band 6.5 on an IELTS test.

She would like to see health care in Thailand changes in 6 points consist of :

1.     All people could be access health care system equally.

2.     A higher standard of service.

3.     A people should have more health education than nowadays.

4.     Technology systems should be up-to-date, for example, people can make appointments with doctor by themselves.

5.     Reducing the congestion in out patient departments.

6.     Nurses should be have more than at the present time.

  The interview of Ms. Suwanna Kullaboot

Ms. Suwanna Kullaboot is a nursing instructor at Borromarajchonni Nursing college Nonthaburi campus. What she likes best about her job is teaching activities such as teaching students both in classrooms and patient’s wards, but she does not like paper works such as teaching quality control works. She is a specialist in the field of neurology in surgery wards, but for now she is interested in tuberculosis that she will continue her master degree project about it.

In her view, a good nurse is a smart person who has the mankind and humanity on patients. In the next ten years she will work in the same job. She does not have any plan to change her career.

Ms. Suwanna Kullaboot has no experience of study aboard, but at the present she got a government scholarship to study for a master degree and PhD overseas. She intends to study in the United States of America next year. She worries about her English ability because she feels her English is not good enough to study aboard therefore all of skills need to be improved. There is evidence from the test result of The IELTS on a 5.5 band that she had in 2017. So, that is why English is crucial in her future plans. Twelve weeks are the valuable time to study at an intensive English course (the IELTS preparation) in New Zealand. The improvement of her IELTS performance should be shown in the period of time. She made her mind to study harder than she never tried before.

Ms. Suwanna said that she would like to see some changes  of health care in Thailand especially Thais should have the basic knowledge about self-care, and they should be able to the first care of themselves rather than relying on the health care services. For example, people should know how to care about a common cold at home, but in the case of emergency either bleeding or heart attack they should immediately go to the hospital.

Interview : Praphasri Thungmiphon [Nine]

Nine is a nursing instructor at Boromarajonani College of Nursing, Lanpang. She teaches about mental health, and psychiatric nursing. She likes her job because she likes to see students who have a good attitude about psychiatric patients. She usually feels happy when she can persuade her students to get a good attitude about psychiatric patients after practicing in the hospital. However, she doesn’t like her job sometimes because she has to prepare many documents at work and it takes a lot of time. She thinks it’s a waste of time for teaching good things for students.

For Nine, A good nurse is a person who is empathic. It means someone who has ability and willingness to share the feelings of another. In the next 10 years, she would like to work as a nursing professor. She has not studied oversea before, but she plans to study for a PhD in nursing in the United States after attending English class in New Zealand. She has a result in the IELTS examination, her score is 5.5.

Nowadays she is trying to improve her English because English is very important for her PhD program. She hopes to improve her English skill such as speaking skills, writing skills and listening skills while she is in New Zealand because she wants to get a higher score in the IELTS test. Nine feels exhausted about her English sometimes because after she took the IELTS test last time, she thought her English was not good enough for study abroad, but she still keeps going to practice her English. 

Nine would like to see Thai people have more education about preventing health problems and hopes they could solve their health problems by themselves instead of going to the hospital.
